The South is undoubtedly the strongest supporter in America of the private school system. Southerners have long resented the role the Federal Government has assumed in the area of educaiton - a role far outside its constitutional limits. And now a new movement to greatly expand private education appears ready to take off. ‘Southern Baptists are moving to open their own schools, offering an alternative to public schools that would educate a new generation about biblical principles instead of popular culture.’ Demand for private education in South Carolina is very strong and should be fertile ground for the Southern Baptists’ push.

One well-known private school in SC is Warlaw Academy in Johnston. Its mission includes this statement, ‘In addition to our strong academic program, we emphasize the worthwhile values of honesty, patriotism, respect, compassion, and Christianity.’ Compare this to the sort of agenda of the government-run public schools, which are now ulimately under the US Federal Department of Education.

The third annual Confederate Heritage Youth Day is being held on the 29th of September in Clover, SC.

The Palmetto Confederate Ball is being held by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in Charleston, SC on the 20th and 21st of October.

A picnic and meeting is being hosted by the Abbeville Co., SC chapter of the League of the South, along with another secessionist group in the UpCountry on the 22nd of September near Greenwood, SC.

‘Seven weeks after the collapse of legislation in Congress, the outcry against illegal immigration is louder than ever, manifested by proposed clampdowns at the state and local level…. Instead of taking a downturn after the collapse of Bush’s immigration overhaul in June, the debate over illegal immigration has continued and seemingly escalated. As prospects for congressional action appeared increasingly in doubt this year, all 50 states and more than 75 towns and cities considered — and in many cases enacted — immigration restrictions, even though initial court rulings have declared such actions unconstitutional intrusions on federal responsibilities…. In South Carolina… nearly 50 percent of the state’s foreign-born population comes from Latin America, according to the Migration Policy Institute. The pattern is similar in Georgia, where Latin Americans make up 55 percent of the foreign-born population. The resulting demographic impact on local communities can often lead to social tensions that help explain the intensity of feelings over illegal immigration, said Meissner and other experts.’

This is very revealing, though this article has the usual bias of the anti-Southern hate group known as the Southern Poverty and Law Center and does its best to project patriot resistance to what is a true invasion as evil or mean-spirited. In fact, we have a right to defend our land, our people. As the article says, the change is happening very quickly. Now half of all foreigners in SC are Latin-Americans – these are the ones they know about. This invasion has to stop if we are going to survive as a people and culture. Otherwise, they’ll continue coming and in a few years they’ll be the majority and SC will be just another Hispanic land. That is the future we face if we do nothing. ‘A new poll shows Americans’ approval of Congress sinking to all-time lows. The latest Gallup Poll found that approval of the legislative branch of the federal government hit 18 percent in an Aug. 13-16 survey. Those disapproving of Congress stands at 76 percent.

This month’s congressional approval rating dipped nine points from a Gallup poll a month earlier, and has fallen steadily since the Democratic takeover in January, when the approval rating jumped to 35 percent. But the current approval rating isn’t radically different from the 21 percent approval rating in December 2006, a month after the election but before the official handover took place.

The poll shows Democrats’ and independent voters’ opinions have darkened in the last month, and now there are no statistically significant differences in the approval rating broken down among Republicans, Democrats and independents.’

How much more are we going to take, folks? Complaining has no effect. The sooner we say “enough!” and leave their system the better.

‘The European Union has urged the governor of Texas to stop all executions as the state prepares to carry out its 400th death penalty. The statement from the Portuguese presidency of the 27-nation bloc said: “The European Union strongly urges Governor Rick Perry to exercise all powers vested in his office to halt all upcoming executions and to consider the introduction of a moratorium in the State of Texas.”

The EU has no right to involve itself in our own internal politics in the States of Dixie. How many criminals Texas punishes for their crimes, and in what manner it chooses to do so, is none of the business of the European Union. 

‘The EU was unreservedly opposed to the use of capital punishment “under all circumstances” and had consistently called for the universal abolition of the punishment, it added. A spokesman for the Texas governor’s office said it would respond to the EU declaration.’

We urge South Carolinians to stand with the people of Texas in the face of this international outrage!
