The League of the South, the premier Southern Nationalist organization, supports the Lakota Indians in their secession from the American Empire. On 17 December, the Lakota tribes announced that they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties signed with the U.S. government. By doing so, the Lakota effectively declared their independence as a free and self-governing people.
The treaties signed with the United States are merely “worthless words on worthless paper,” the Lakota freedom activists say on their website. The treaties have been “repeatedly violated in order to steal our culture, our land and our ability to maintain our way of life,” the reborn freedom movement says. Withdrawing from the treaties was entirely legal, activist Russell Means said. The League of the South wishes the Lakota people well in their bid to govern themselves and to restore their historic culture and lands. We also recognize the legitimacy of their right to self-government.
Many people are now aware that the Lakota Indian people are trying to separate themselves from the US Federal Government. Recently, representatives of the Lakota went to Washington, DC to inform the Feds of their intentions. As well, they met with many foreign leaders and are actively seeking recognition and aid. Russian President Putin appears to be one of the Lakota’s international supporters.
The Federal Government of the United States has probably never been so unpopular. It seems that Washington, DC has very few supporters these days. A new secessionist movement has sprung up in Ohio, thanks to the hard work of its leader - Mr Harold Thomas.
Recently, Mr Thomas gave a very detailed and enlightening interview. Here is a short piece of that interview…
‘The most important thing the government and people of Ohio can do to prepare us for independence is to begin thinking like an independent state. We recognize that Federal funds come from the pockets of our own people. We pursue policies to encourage community-based solutions to social problems. We resist further encroachments of Federal authority on the rights of the States and of the people, as Gov. Strickland in December did with the children’s health insurance benefit.
We also begin to think of the economy as local, not global, by purchasing items based as much on quality and local manufacture as on price alone. We eat at the corner restaurant instead of McDonald’s, and buy at the farmer’s market or locally-owned supermarket instead of Wal-Mart.
We become aware of, and promote, our own culture. Our culture will turn a seceded State into a nation in its own right.’

The new State of South Maine? The mayor of South Portland, Maine is actively promoting the secession of the southernmost three counties of Maine to secede from the State of Maine, which he calls the “common, oppressive enemy” of the people in those counties. Their principle issue appears to be taxation and local control of tax funds. Below is a news video on the story.

This blog, and the movement and people it represents, supports the independence of South Carolina from the what is now undoubtedly a Federal Empire and unconstitutional regime. We don’t want to answer to the dictates of Washington, DC. And for that reason, ironically, we’re supporting a candidate for the office of President of the Federal Government – Ron Paul. This is because Doctor Ron Paul supports an extremely limited, strictly constitutional, pro-life, pro-States’ rights philosophy on government - the very same philosophy that our ancestors of old fought for and defended from the British and later from the Federals. Politico is reporting that ‘Mike Huckabee accepted more than 90 gifts from 21 Arkansans he appointed to state posts during his decade as governor. Huckabee’s personal attorney, Kevin Crass, was designated by his campaign to respond to Politico. It’s “a coincidence” that there’s some overlap between the list of gift givers and appointments, said Crass, adding Huckabee “understood that you can’t trade appointments for gifts and that didn’t happen.”’
His lawyer might deny the allogations, but the numbers do not lie. ‘The fact that some of them had given the former governor gifts also is a product of Southern culture, [Crass] said. “He came from a background where people exchanged gifts and supported one another,” said Crass. “That’s just the Southern way.”’ Blaming this corruption on our Southern culture is just inexcusable and unwarrented. Rather, Huckabee should be a man and accept responsibility for all that he has done.
